I have always loved riding with the club members and hopefully always will. The VTXRRA has played a big part in my social life over the past couple of years ( I know, I should get out more ), but I sincerely hope all will continue smoothly as me and the missus have totally enjoyed your company and friendships

Cheers lads

Hi Gang,

I'm afraid I missed the opening thread but from what I can make out it seems that there is discontent with the activities and the way the club is running...??? I see that a committee has been mentioned also.

I am very new to this group and I cannot emphasise enough how friendly the members are. Most clubs get very cliquey but I haven's seen that here. Unfortunately, I am in a difficult position and can't attend many ride outs but hopefully things will change.

My views on this club, and I may be wide of the mark not having seen the original "grumble" thread is that we are a group of like minded bikers that enjoy each others company on a variety of rides. Does it matter how many rides we attend? Does it need a committee to "organise" things for us? Bear in mind that there may be legal implications to forming this type of organisation.
Why do things need to change? Does it matter if there are 25 or 250 members?
Poor turnouts are inevitable as there are numerous factors that come into play. I understand that if folk say that they will attend and then don't is an irritation, but hey, their loss.

If I am talking out of my arse, I'm sure you will tell me :o)

Tony

I'm with you Tony, I enjoy going to what rides (which aint many as I work away from home and don't get home every w/e) I can and meeting the guys. I've been in lots of clubs over the years and nearly didn't join this one as I got fed up of committees organising me, monthly meetings, AGMs etc. etc. I had enough of being told what to do and where to be in the RN. We're all free spirits and the reason I joined this club is that there is no committee, no mandatory meetings, no subscriptions just a great lot of like minded friendly bikers.

:o Come on guys.
I agree that if you live within a reasonable distance from a proposed meet then it could be expected that you make an effort. However some of us do not live in the midlands or the south and are looking at at least three to four hours in the saddle just to get to the meeting point.
I have a mrs and a little un to consider before I can say I am sodding off on the bike and given that I work away from home during the week, I don't think it would be unreasonable of them to be pissed off if I got home and then jumped on the bike.
I am attending RTTW and am hoping to meet some of you there, but as for some of the other meets, unless I give up the whole weekend, I just can't do it.
I joined this group to be able to contact like minded individuals and be able to share information. If there is a chance to meet up then thats a bonus. I didn't think it was mandatory.

Hope to still meet up with you guys at RTTW. I will be staying at the Premier Inn at Tamworth the night before, and yes, I have cleared it with er in doors

We're also attending the RTTW. And if the you can't com to the ride then the ride will come to you. We're on holiday in Keswick in September and it would be good to meet up wiv ya.

Hi guys

I have been around a while on this forum and the the other VTX forum. I am not a frequent poster, but I do attend a few rallies in the year with some of the Shadow guys and others.

This year has been a tricky year with work but I have kept up the riding and the rallies, problem is no else goes. Also do not have the VTX anymore, so unclear whether I am still welcome, or I should bugger off somewhere else.

Would love to do more organised rides. maybe we coiuld co-ordinate a bit more and have regular meets down hear on the Herts/ Essex/ London border. I would be happy to attend regularly as its pretty crap riding on your own all the time.

I am at the Soggy in Sept if anyone else is going.
